Guide 
The full text display is easy to navigate and offers an extensive range of linking
possibilities to related material for broader and deeper research. It also provides
a selection of display formats offering bibliographic information.
Functionality of the full text display
- status flags indicate repealed or modified legislation and superseded
judgments and orders:
= repealed/superseded,

- hold the mouse over a footnote reference to view the text » More

- use the table of contents in the left hand pane to jump to articles or
annexes within the document
- use the first, previous,
next or last icons
to move to other records
- click the summary icon to return to the summary
list
- click back to search to return to your search
query
- use the text navigation icons First hit on page,

Last
hit on page to jump to search term(s) within the text. The software
will automatically load and scan all next or previous pages until it finds
an occurrence of a search term. If there are no further occurrences it will
then display a warning message.
LINKING TO RELATED DOCUMENTS
OJ OnlinePlus is full of hypertext links to related records. Linking possibilities
include:
- linking to documents cited in the text
- linking to groups of related material e.g. any available modifications,
court decisions, national implementing measures or consolidated text
- one-to-one linking to a wide range of information by changing the display
format
- linking to PDFs of Official Journals in all EU languages (since 1998)
Linking to groups of related material
This function can be used with any records that have a Celex number. The
tabs will be activated if related material is available. To view a group of
related records simply click on the tab for the type of link you require.
Modifications
Retrieves all records that directly have an affect on the displayed record,
i.e. documents that amend, add, replace, adopt etc.
Consolidation
Retrieves the consolidated text of a record in pdf format. »

Court decisions
Retrieves any relevant Court decisions associated with the displayed record.
National measures
Displays details of national measures implementing a particular piece of legislation.
This tab always appears for directives even if there is no data. Information
is added as it becomes available. »

One-to-one linking
The full text display also provides a selection of other formats in which to
view a record. These displays provide bibliographic and analytical information
and are filled with links to related material (in
Celex
number format). In the
Full analytical display for example, you can link
to the legal base of a record, to other cited records and to records that have
been modified by the current record or that have modified it.
- To change the format, click the Text pull down menu and select the format
you require.

Tip: the Full analytical display gives a full overview
of a record with links to a vast range of related material.

- Each link to a related record will display the full text if a single record
is linked to or a summary list if there is more than one record.
- Each link is classified as a level with the original document being level
0.
- To return to a previous level click the back
button .
Link to PDFs
Many documents are available in their original format as pdfs in other EU languages.
In the full text display the bar below will indicate that pdfs for that record
are available. »

- To save a pdf document directly to your hard disk: click the right-hand
mouse button of the language you require and select "Save target as"
and follow the standard Windows procedure for saving files.
- To open a pdf: click the icon of the the the language you require.
- Click the back button to return to the full
text display.
Footnotes incorporated in the text
OJ OnlinePlus has a useful feature in Official Journal records from 2003 onwards.
Footnotes, normally only listed at the end of an article, are also available
within the text as a float-over. Hold the mouse over the footnote reference
and a yellow box with the text will appear.
